ABOUT
I am assistant professor of literature at East China Normal University and junior research fellow at Simian Institute for Advanced Studies in Humanities. I received my PhD from the Department of German at Northwestern University, where my dissertation research concerns contemporary German migrant literature and the influence of multilingualism. My research interests include literary and cultural plant studies, critical theory, and aesthetics.
I was a research fellow at Waseda University in spring 2019, and a fellow at Northwestern’s Paris Program in Critical Theory during from 2017 to 2018. Apart from being a literary scholar and teacher of German, I am also a podcast producer (see here), a translator, and I sometimes write newspaper articles (see here).
